Public Devlog 11-30-24

Hello everyone!

It’s been almost a month since the release of our game, so we’re here to share what has happened in its development over the past month!

Improvements to the Models

Aiming to give the game more personality, Miwa’s model underwent some adjustments to her physique and lighting, which led to the need to rework some animations that broke during the process. It was a tedious task, but this shouldn’t happen again if we need to modify her model in the future.

After some study, we adjusted the shader controlling the shadows on Miwa’s body, achieving a more "anime-like" style that we’re very happy with.

Additionally, we also focused on creating a system where the characters can look at the player when they are within their field of view.

Lastly, we added skins to the game. Currently, the game features three skins: the default skin, casual skin, nude skin. More skins will be added in the future. When you change the character's skin, it will be applied to her story mode (unless the story presents a new skin), the open world, and the +18 scenes.

At the moment, the method for unlocking skins hasn’t been decided, but all of them will be unlockable through in-game resources, such as completing quests or purchasing them in the store (to be added in the future). However, a build is available for our $10 tier supporters on Patreon with this system already implemented.

New +18 Scene System

The current system for +18 scenes has always bothered me, both because of the cluttered interface and the type of control used for these scenes. For this reason, I focused on improving the system last week.

The new system not only features a cleaner interface but is now controlled via a slider. This slider adjusts the animation speed and automatically switches positions, giving players more control.

In the future, when these scenes are unlocked during the story, they will include a minigame. This system is still under discussion and development, but you can expect something similar to Stardew Valley’s fishing mechanic.

New Map for the Residential Area

As mentioned during the game’s launch, the current map is just a placeholder, and a new one is in development.

Neko has been doing an excellent job with the new map, and we now have a skeleton of the new area completed. The next steps involve creating and refining assets, as well as testing how the map works. We also plan to apply a more "anime-like" lighting system similar to Miwa’s.

That’s it for today, folks! We’ll probably see you again on 12/15. Stay tuned for updates, and if you enjoy our project, consider supporting us on Patreon!
